I am so very excited to let you all know, that PRIDE (the group I'm working with on the Splash Pad) received the grant we applied for! Only a few communities in Kansas are awarded this grant, and we are beyond thrilled that Larned was chosen. It is for a whole park renovation. Of course the grant does NOT cover everything. Now that we know 100% for sure this is going to be a reality, I will be accepting donations again in Natalie's memory. I have collected right under $5000 so far. Thank you so much to all who have contributed! I would absolutely LOVE to have $10,000 raised by April. So, if you or anyone that you know of would like to contribute, please let me know. Every little bit helps! The splash pad will be something that is FREE and available to ALL children that live or are passing through Larned. I think it is the perfect way to remember our little girl.
We are also using volunteers to build the park. I'll have more on that later. We are planning on doing the work in April. If you would like to help with that, please let me know. If you are from out of town, you are more than welcome to stay at our house. The only expense you would have is to get yourself here. We'd take care of the rest.
I can't wait to see our dream be a reality!
