Requesting your help!

Ever since we lost our sweet Natalie, I have been searching for something to do in her memory that would be a permanent remembrance of her. I wanted something happy, something fun for children. I never was thrilled with the idea of a park or playground because Larned has quite a few already. I just couldn’t put my finger on anything that I LOVED.

This summer, Marleigh and I were in Hutchinson with my Mom, sister, and nephew. We played at a splash pad. The kids absolutely loved it! A splash pad is a concrete area with different water features that kids can run through and play in. After we got home, I found myself thinking, “I wish Larned had a splash pad.” The next night, I saw that a local group, Larned PRIDE, was looking at the addition of a splash pad at a local park. Finally! An idea that I LOVED. I was so excited at the thought of a splash pad in Natalie’s memory that I didn’t sleep at all that night. What an awesome tribute to our little girl!

Larned PRIDE is working on getting funding from various sources, including a grant for the complete renovation of Doerr-Vernon Park, with the addition of a splash pad. I am thrilled to be working with them. I am raising money in Natalie’s memory, so that a section of the park can be in her honor.

Many of you have been extremely generous to our family. We are humbled by the love and support we have received. We thank you for all that you have done. However, I feel that God has placed this in my heart for a reason. So, if God puts it on your heart to give a small contribution in Natalie’s memory, we would be forever grateful.

Donations can be made via check and made payable to the City of Larned. Please write Natalie’s name in the memo portion, and mail back to me at:

I have also set up a paypal account for secure, easy payment. The email address of the paypal account is: nataliesplashpad@hotmail.com

Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! It will be so bitter sweet to see Marleigh playing in a splash pad next summer in memory of her sister.

  1. Hope you don't mind that I shared with all the girls at work...I think they deserve to know and be able to contribute if they want to.
