Sunday we went to the lake for an impromptu picnic. It was hot and windy. Marleigh was such a trooper. All smiles. The water was frigid, so we didn't get in. However, I asked Grandma to stick Marleigh's toes in to see if she would like it. I'll let you be the judge!

Grandma & Grandpa Johnson came for a visit!
Last weekend Grandma & Grandpa Johnson came for a visit. It was so good to see them! Friday night we grilled steaks and played board games. Saturday we bummed around all day, then went to 4 Legs Up in Great Bend for dinner (yummy!!!). Marleigh of course was all smiles for Grandma & Grandpa. Here's a few pics.
I almost forgot our other BIG news! Marleigh is off of the extremely expensive formula! She is now on Rice Milk. Woo Hoo!!!! Instead of $150 every two weeks, we now are spending $15 every two weeks. It took her a couple of days to adjust, but she's doing great on it!
A quick update on the eating front. Marleigh now does not want ANYONE to feed her. She is a big girl and will do it herself! I have to sneak in bites of her baby food when she is shoveling bread in. Then she gives me a dirty look. She is growing up so fast!!!!

Busy, but great weekend!
We had a very nice weekend! Friday night, Jaeson, Lindsey, and Gunnar, as well as Myra came over. We grilled some amazing Fillets (thanks, Lindsey) and just hung out. Gunnar is adorable to watch with Marleigh. He is so patient and gentle with her. She grabbed his PS2 while he was in the middle of the football game, and he just let her have it to look at and play with. If that would have been me, and I was in the middle of a game, I don't think I would have been so nice! Ha ha!!! He has the cutest baby voice that he uses when he talks to her. I've got some pictures of them that I'll try to get added (maybe this afternoon).
We had a garage sale on Saturday morning. It was freezing and a bit windy, but that didn't stop the bargain-hunting faithful. We basically sold everything in the first two hours! I was glad to get rid of some junk...errrrr... wonderful treasures! ;) We had lunch with Grandma and Aunt Myra (Grandma sold some stuff at the garage sale, and Aunt Myra was nice enough to come over to watch Marleigh during the garage sale). Then just hung out Saturday night.
Sunday was a great Mother's Day. We went over to Great Bend with Grandma and Papa for lunch. Marleigh has FINALLY figured out how to mash food up with her gums! I am so excited. before she would try to swallow everything without chewing and gag herself. Sunday she ate: a donut, tomato, crouton, baked potato, mashed potato, and a cookie! I am so proud of her!!! Now she wants to eat everything we eat. Daddy, Marleigh, and I took a nap when we got home. Then Myra came over for dinner, or I guess breakfast. We made breakfast for dinner. French toast and scrambled eggs. Yummy!!!!
Marleigh is constantly on the go! She has figured out how to move her feet and is wanting to walk everywhere. No more yelling at her feet... which is kind of sad. It was a hoot to watch her yell at them. It was as if she was saying, "MOVE!!! I have places I want to go!!!" Of course, we still have to hold onto her for balance, but she is a girl on the move. Marc was calling her Jo-Jo the Circus Bear because she is non-stop crawling/pulling up/wanting to walk. It won't be long before she's toddling around on her own!

Girls weekend and 15 month checkup
This past weekend Marc, Jaeson, & KC headed to Manhattan for a boys golf weekend with our friend, Josh Huff. So what else were we to do but have a girls weekend? Aunt Shannon and Luke came from Hutch. My Aunt Karen that lives in Hoisington and Grandma Cline all came to our house Saturday. We had so much fun! Lukes loves Marleigh so much, but it is hard for him to understand that she is still kind of a baby and can't "play" with him. He is always wanting to hold her. Grandma had Marleigh sitting on the couch and Luke climbed up beside them. He stated, "I hold Marleigh." He reached for her and drug her onto his lap. Marleigh had a puzzled look on her face. It was priceless. Later in the afternoon they were playing on the floor. Once again, Luke wanted to "hold" Marleigh. He basically had her in a headlock. She wasn't exactly happy. She was going, "ehhhhhhhhhh..." Shannon made a good analogy. Luke with Marleigh is kind of like a dog with a kitten. The dog wouldn't intentionally hurt the kitten, but he might play with it too hard or maul it. He would never, ever hurt her intentionally, but wants to love on her so much!
It was a beautiful weekend. Jenni's oldest son, DJ, had a baseball tournament here in town, so we took the kids to a game Saturday and one on Sunday. DJ did great! We were so proud of him. The kids had a ball being outside.
~~
Marleigh had her 15 month check up. Everything looks perfect! She is now 29.5 inches long and 21lbs. At her 9 month check up, she was in the 5% for height and weight. She is now in the 25% for height and 20% for weight! They were very pleased with her growth and development!
~~
There is a correction to a previous post. Marleigh is working on a total of 3 teeth. They are swollen and still giving her fits. She hasn't been a fan of eating from her spoon at all. But bananas are her new best friend. She has been mowing off bananas like they are going out of style! I just keep hoping these teeth hurry up and pop through. I think Marleigh's tummy is hoping they hurry up, too!
I have some great video of Marleigh from yesterday. If I am smart enough, I will try to figure out how to post it in the next few days!
